View Full Version : Tries to die when put in reverse

What table in EFI Live would I need to look at for airflow when shifting from Park to Reverse?
My Tahoe will sit and sputter and gasp and drop rpms to 400 or so unless I give the gas pedal a stab. I thought it was my previous cam with all the overlap but, now i have 0 overlap and still have the issue. I have a stock 6L tune to compare my tune to but I dont know the tables I should look at.

Welcome to the forum Slowhoe. Are the trans components still stock?
The trans is a FLT Level 5 4L65E.

Take a look at B4338 B4339 and maybe B4522, though Im not sure if the last one will work for you. I had the same problem. I set my idle at 690rpm. It idles nicely there, but doesnt leave much room for error. I messed with these and it helped.

I went through my tune and set ALL the tables from the "Idle" folder back to a stock 2002 LQ4. Some of my stuff was pretty out of whack. What would I also need to adjust away from stock for my cam?
I have the Lingenfelter GT2-3. Specs are 207/220 .571/.578 118.5lsa. I figure with the lsa wider than stock (I think stock is 117) the only thing I should have to account for is the higher lift. :nixweiss:
So what tables do you guys mess with for a cam and why?

Usually {B4307} will get your idle back in line. The RAFIG and RAFPN PID's are used to obtain the values you need to adjust {B4307}.
Are you familiar with setting up Map's in the Scan tool?

Yeah that cam is tame. Desired Airflow as mentioned will do 90% of it.

I'm barely familar with how to use EFI in general. I have an Innovate wide band that I still have yet to link up to EFI. I have read about RAFIG before but I still dont understand it too much. I was also told that when you hook up your cable to the car/truck there is a button you can hit to validate what PIDs can be read. Anybody know if thats true? Is there a tutorial on setting up Maps?

To validate PIDs, hit Shift+F2 when you connect to the scan tool. You should only have to do it one time per vehicle that you connect to.

I discovered that my OS and EFI live dont support the PIDs I need to log ANY of the idle PIDs I need to track this down. :doh: I have spoken to Blacky as well as GMPX and there is an update coming soon that should solve that. I have one of the very first Flex Fuel OS'. No too many of them out there so I was the first person to ever request these PIDs. Big thanks to GMPX for hooking me up. Once I am able to log the correct items I will be back to bother you guys for help.:cheers:
