Talk about bad luck. Ordered my RR 29th Nov, held up due to bluetooth being made, sent 13th Dec, lost in Australia post 9 days + christmas holidays, finally got my RR 28th dec. woops , no license. E-mails to Paul & Craig, got RR license 3rd dec. Finally installed RR car in 6th Dec,used USB cable, "GREAT". Installed bluetooth on RR 7th Dec. "BROKEN" installation/driver disk supplied with bluetooth dongle (cracked right through the middle). Finally downloaded software from website. Evaluation version only, needs license key which must be on the install cd. Has anybody else got the BlueSoleil bluetooth with their RR willing to mail me their key so I can finally start using this fantastic tuning tool.:bawl: :bawl: :bawl:

Craig mailed me an earlier version of the software,as well as some great help from tornde. I can now connect to my RR but can't do a full read or write. Get an error message. Still not quite there yet.:frown:

RR = GREAT
bluesoleil bluetooth = sucks.

Yeah I'm not a fan of that Bluetooth stack. Seriously go spend $20 at Disk Smith and get one that is supported natively by Windows XP SP2 and be done with it ;)

No offence intended, but it's a pity it doesn't ship with one supported by windows, considering the bluetooth install doc on Craigs website even says windows is prefered over bluesoleil,widcomm etc.

And it definitely wasn't detected by Windows XP (you are running SP2 right)? Is there anything identifiable on the device - I assume it is a USB device?

yes, USB. I even reinstalled SP2 just to be sure. I tried it also with a new compaq , comes with XP SP2 installed as standard, still no good. I'm honestly thinking about buying the internal bluetooth adapter from HP for my laptop and fitting it, will always be there and will also free up a USB port.
