Is there anything usefull that can be done with a 2004 Chevy Express as far as tuning without a wideband or any other special equipment? In searching, it seems all the 6.0L's are 300hp/360tq in the trucks and vans, so copying a truck's tables probably wouldn't do anything.

Mostly curious.

Thanks

You might try getting an Escalade 6.0 liter to read out the file, they have 345 HP.

:D

Some one just sent me one of those a few days ago. Have a look at THIS ONE (http://www.holdencrazy.com/EFILive/TuneFileRepository/Stock/Cadillac/2004%20Cadillac%20Escalade%20SUV%20Automatic%20LQ9 %206.0%20Litre%20(12587603).tun). It's a 2004 Escalade...

The escalade runs the higher compression LQ9 motor while the express van has the LQ4. He'd be better off looking into the tune from a denali which runs the LQ4 but is rated at 325hp.

Never that easy, is it?

Guess we'll have to keep our eyes peeled for a Denali.

Thanks for the input guys.

I have one, I'm pretty sure I posted it to the holdencrazy site too...

I saw that one but wasn't sure if it was from a denali. Now, what's the best way to transpose it over to the 12587670 OS the van (And Escalade) run? With the Escalade tune, make a script to copy the differences and go (but it kept crashing...). But to go to a different OS... and there are A LOT more tables in these tunes than the Duramax ones... I guess the thing to do would be to find a 300hp LQ4 with the 12593058 OS, compare the two, make a script and run it on the Van tun file...

Well, you don't need everything from the 325hp tune ported over to yours, just pay attention to the power areas and you should be set.

If I could ask the dumb question... Which ones are those? I'm a total noob at this and don't want to break anything...My guess is they're all in the "Fuel" section.

Another dumb question... Can the van (or denali) run on E85? There are Ethanol tables in both...

Check the spark tables as well, that's where many of the differences are.

Ok... Here's the tun (http://picam.modularmn12.us:81/efi/Untitled_0001_Denali_0000.tun.zip)with the denali tables copied to the van OS... Look Ok? You should be able to see what I modified under History. Remove the .zip extension. for some reason my web server complained when it was .tun.

Can this tune be hosted? Just want to check before I steal it.

I don't see why not.

Does it look Ok? There where a few things that where different and didn't make sense, like the "Injector Pulse Width Voltage Adjustment" table. Don't know why it would be different.. Doesn't seem like it would make a differnece with power.

Is it a stock tune? Just wanted to check first, don't want to host anything that has intellectual property issues or suchlike ;)

His is a modified tune. Took the stock values from an 03 Denali and merged with an 04 Express van tune.

Exactly. I sent the 04 Express Stock Tune on HoldenCrazy.com also, but that is stock as it was read from the PCM (except for the VIN).
