Just got my built 4L80E for our 98-f-body race car. We are upgrading the car to an 99+ PCM and have a harness from a 2000 4L60E F-body. Are the parameters in the stock os different from the 60 to the 80?

You will need to use a 4l80 cal as they are different in coding to the 4l60 , you can copy the entire auto trans section from a calibration that uses the 4L80 if there is one that is the same code as your car.

I would recommend using the 2002 F-car operating system. Tordne has both the Camaro and a 4L80-E file available at his EFILive Tune File Repository.

2002 Chevrolet Silverado Truck Automatic LQ4 6.0 Litre (12212156).tun

It is also necessary to perform a minor harness re-route at the transmission connector. The Brown wire in terminal position "U" needs to go where the White wire is at terminal position "S". The white and tan/black wires are not used in the 4L80-E transmission. Only use the rear mounted VSS sensor.

Are you saying the that two files noted above, combined will do the job? Are the 60 and 80 parameters the same?

I'm planning to do this swap, could you share the tune?

I am interested in having a file that will work for the corvette ETC and the 4l80E.

How do you go by changing calibration segments? Manually with a hex editor?

Thanks

It is easily done with EFI_Live. To swap segments you need to also match the Operating systems. Load your base tune file and then your file with the necessary segment. "Edit>copy entire segment" After the segment has been copied save the file as a new name. No hex editing!
