i am not sure were to post this at, but i should be getting my efi live mon/tue and want to just get a basic idea of how to set it up. basically i copy the latest update from the website and plug it into the truck. or is there something i am missing. also i purchased it from mcrat and he said i need to send a copy of my stock file to him how do i go about that. i also read that i need to always keep a copy of my stock file saved on several computers. thanks for the help and sorry i'm sure this is the same stuff you hear over and oever, i just want to hear it from a real person and have direct answers.

If you got the download form the downloads page on www.efilive.com it will be out of date (we will update that shortly). Download from HERE (http://download.efilive.com/software/EFILiveV733_475_605_555.zip)

Install this build of the software, then when you get your product you'll need to install the latest drivers - download then HERE (http://download.efilive.com/drivers/EFILive_FlashScan_Drivers_3_1_2.zip). Then you enter your license details and you're away.

To read the tune out of your car/truck simply connect everything to your vehicle and the using the Tune Tool use the 'Flash->Read PCM calibrations' option.

It will probably make more sense when you have everything in front of you. There is some pretty good documentation to.

Pretty much. Load the software and install the drivers. Connect to car and you should be away.

Did you load the drivers for the FlashScan device? There instructions in the 'C:\Program Files\EFILive\V7\Docs\FlashScan V2' folder for different operating systems.

What is the vehicle. Looking at your handle it is a red WS6, but you shouldn't have issues with that. Send the downloaded tune file to support at efilive dot com.

Also, can you post some screen shots of what you're doing...

see post #2 of this: showthread.php?t=3064 (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=3064)

I had the same issue. Make sure you are running the 7.3 build 555 software. Then you need to upload the most recent firmware to the V2 box. After that, the PCM read will work properly (and do it faster). Look here:
http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=4158

Also, there are a couple of updated calibration files you need. It works without them, but they enable a few more tuning parameters. Look here for them:

Since this duramax tuning stuff is still basically in beta testing, it takes a bit more effort to keep each component updated. Once its finalized, I'm sure more thorough directions and a single software update will be included.
