Check out the instructions in THIS THREAD (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=3928). They relate to the RoadRunner but are similar. Also look in the 'C:\Program Files\EFILive\V7\Docs\FlashScan V?' filder for driver instructions for each OS.

No luck, it keeps on giving me this error. Cannont Install this Hardware. There was a problem installing this hardware: An error occurred during the installation of the device. The system cannot find the file specificied.

I also tried the file from the link and the file does not have the file needed.

Rey,

Did you try specifying the driver's location rather than letting the system search for it...?

Joe,

I specified the driver's location, then it starts loading. At the end it just ends up having the error. My laptop and home pc runs on windows xp service pack 2.

This is the driver you're loading? http://download.efilive.com/drivers/EFILive_FlashScan_Drivers_3_1_2.zip

What file is it saying it can't find?

It doesn't really specify which file, but I get to step 7 on the install manual. Then it ask for the FTD2XX.sys file, I point to the file. It appears to be installing then the error message comes up. Attached is the error.

Yes I do. I installed V1 without a problem.

I know that this is old, but what was the resolution. I have a older laptop that seems to have the same problem. My other computers work fine with V2.

Xman - You might need to download the driver uninstall utility to remove all the existing drivers first, then reinstall the correct drivers. You should be able to download the uninstall utility from the downloads page

Already uninstalled both the drivers and the programs--twice. And each time I had the same problem. This is a old laptop. Gave up on it and bought a new one today.

I did like it because it had a serial port that was handy with some other ECU's like FAST, Autronic, Accel and other older serial interface devices.

Thanks for trying.

I'm certain that it should work on the other (old) laptop.... It is often difficult to talk someone through issues with drivers when the arise. Much easier to get remote access with RDP or VNc etc.

Hopefully it is all working on the new laptop?

Andrew,
All is well with the new laptop. I have the software on several other computers including my desktop that I bench test and flash PCM's. The old laptop is 8 years old and due for retirement anyway.
Thanks

Is there a new driver zip file available?

When the software is installed the dives reside in the 'C:\Program Files\EFILive\Drivers\EFILive\Win-2K-XP-Vista' folder. The drivers have not changed in probably a couple of years or so.

There isn't a setup in that folder. I must be doing something wrong. I have Windows 7. What do I need to do to install them?

If you are 64 bit change 'Program Files' to 'Program Files (x86)'. They will definitely be in one of those two locations if the latest software is installed.

I have that folder, but there are no setup programs.
