Done a bit of prep work.
I have no cats! (Dont ask) so I raised idle to 920rpm and temps to 95*C. (hopefully if my 160* thermo lets it get that hot!)

Was going to leave it open loop, but it sometimes it sits a bit too high or low. Emissions here in UK measure Lambda which needs to read 0.997 to 1.030 :Eyecrazy:
So I cant lean it out to kill my HC count.. Also it needs pretty tight control. So Im going semi open loop at the 2 speeds they measure, idle and 3000rpm and have leaned out the switchpoints a tad.

Fingers crossed the cam is small enough to pass without cats. As my next upgrade (Dual 3" exhaust) will rely on the results.

Off to check the wideband AFR.

Good luck mate!

well, how did it work out? Mine is due in Mai 08 again, so I still got some time after doing the motor upgrade ... will be running dual cats, though ...

Richard, good luck with it mate; do they have a visual inspection over there...?

No visual, just sniffer. Failed with too much CO!
Not sure what to do other than get highflow cats on the task.
Sounds like it needs more O2, ie lean, but Ill exceed lambda. Maybe I can run it hotter, though it was running ok at 95*C

Too leaner fuel mixture will cause high NOx levels, your best bet would be to fit your stock cats, and flick her in to closed loop.

Yes, it was closed loop but no cats. Passed at idle, then failed high RPM test with lambda out of range (maybe too rich) and failed with too much CO.

I was going to leave it open loop, but my IAT/VE adjustment isnt 100% and with the limit on lambda being 0.97 to 1.03 it doesnt leave much room for error.

It wasnt far out.

Anyway looks sorted, getting a new exhaust soon.

Not far out with that cam, no cats and all the other mods? Not bad, makes me optimistic on my mods passing emissions next spring ;)

Yeah I think cam is really the thing that makes the difference, its the part that throws fuel down the pipe! The guy said cats would deal with it.
