Ok i am not quite sure on how the whole licensing works. I have two 1999 silverado's and the only diffence is one is an extend cab(family truck) and one is not with a short bed(my truck). I am planning on buying the V2 with the 2 vin licenses. In order to tune both trucks will i have to use both of the licenses that come with the tuner?

Yes. It's licensed per VIN. If they were both short bed 99 silverados with a 5.3, you'd still need both licenses.

Yep, EFILive moved to a better VIN based system (from the old controller based one, where now with the ECM and TCM being 2 seperate devices you would have to use 2 licenses now you only need 1) but you still must have an individual VIN license b/c options (gears, etc) might be slightly different between the trucks as well.

Unless you want to buy a workshop stream (~$1800), then you will need to use both licenses that come with your V2.

I would also suggest a wideband of some sort if you decide to go with any tuning software. They are essential for properly tuning your vehicle. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

I was wondering if someone could explain how to hook up and use the wideband?

There's a HowTo for installing and configuring the LC1 on the Website & the distribution (go the Help->Tutorials menu of the Tune tool). Once installed, you just use the appropriate analog input of the EFILive Dongle that you hooked up the WBO2 output to to get the AFR value ...
