You must be running v7.4 or later and using V2 hardware to be able to read the E38 / E67.
When you press the green icon in Tune, select either E38 or E67 ECM from the drop down list. If you are unsure which ECM the vehicle is using try to locate the ECM in the engine bay and compare it to the picture shown at the top right of the read screen.

Select ECM Type E38 to read.

Select ECM Type E67 to read.
http://efidownload.iqd.co.nz/images/Select_E67.png

Once you make the correct selection, then simply press start.
If you select the wrong ECM type don't worry, you won't damage anything, the ECM will simply reject the bootloader and EFILive will give you an error message stating this.
The read times may vary, but expect somewhere between 3 - 4 minutes to read the ECM out.

Ross

Thanks Sir,

What about scanning those ECM's? Will all the pids supported in 7.4 yet or do we need to wait for them?

All PID's?, you mean DMA's?

Er maybe. Just remember people saying things like ECT and maybe RPM wernt reporting nicely when scanning the E38 on the LS7.

Such as here http://forum.efilive.com/showpost.php?p=41475&postcount=12

If it should scan nice now let me know. Ill go and try one :)

Ross in another thread said they are finishing up the last details for PCM speed, and then it should be out.

Paul is going to post it up now, but, this will be a semi final release, some PCM's won't have the final cal files done, they will be finished off this week. But, based on the Emails we get, 95% of you will be happy.

Ross

I got smart and set my CP so I know what the hell time it is down there.

All times are GMT +10. The time now is 06:22 AM.

I just got tired of trying to calculate whether they were sleeping on whatever.

It's 4:22 PM on Tuesday the 27th here.

not sure if it ok to post this here but i cant seem to find where to put it.trying to upgrade the usb drivers so i dont have the hp tuner conflict wanting to read some e38 ecms for you guys. i seen a post saying that needs to be done to keep the hp from having a conflick with efilive drivers. i have printed the instructions off on that and cant get past the correction to step 13 after 6 hours of trying i give. i did it step by step when i get to the no 13 copy (dont move )the ftd2xx.dll from \windows\system32\ftd2xx.dll to \program files\efilive \v7\ftd2xx.dll it doesnt show up under windows\system32\ftd2xx.dll maybe i dont understand it right. if i go though with the install skiping that part says v2 is in working condition when done. seems like it might work guessing there could be problems though if i try not want to toast some ones e38 if i try has me lost. any ideas thanks rich

I see in the new release (7.4.2) it refers to E38 Reading. Can we actually look at the tables now or just download the raw files?

I think it only allowed me to pull the "tune" from the PCM. I cannot read it nor modify it. I forwarded the tune to the guys so they can make the CAL file that will allow reading/tuning. I did that a month ago.

It's been 4 months since I've touched EFILive. If you don't use it, you lose it. I have no need to tune the 98 and the 2007 is just untouchable.

Can't read yet. If you go to Program files and open EFILive/V7/Calibrations/E38. It's still empty. It should not be long.

It's hard to promo a product that can't do the 07 Vette.

Any prospects yet? The 08s are coming out now. I think that's enough of a head start to the other tuning programs.
