Hi, I have a mate who would like his VY V6 commodore tuned after some engine/exhaust mods. Can anybody tell me what type of ECM/PCM/TCM are in this model as I believe they went to a flash style computer which is different to the earlier VT-VX. would this also be OBDII not OBDI. Can flashscan scan this vehicle & what software do people use to tune these?

It's OBD-I and only used on Holdens. Sorry, you are out of luck, not even Kalmaker is going to touch it.

Cheers,
Ross

Chipmaster does tuning on the VX,VY's but i believe it requires going back to a VT type computer. So requires wiring changes.

Yes, I think you are correct there.
They can be tuned, but, it involves pulling the flash off and programming it in an EPROM programmer, not really ideal at all.

Ross

maybe Delco could chime in and tell us if it's possible or how to.

STD VY PCM cant be done , it requires a computer change and rewire to a supercharged computer

do you need an earlier model computer or a VY supercharged one?

does it specifically need a supercharged computer or would an earlier ecotec computer work. What is the main reason for needing the supercharged computer if this is the only option?

VY supercharged computer is required , different to the VY non supercharged or normal ecotec.
