Friday night a pair of our EFILive LBZ Duramaxes hit the local 1/8 mile track.
One is a black crew cab '07 classic and the other is the blue extended cab '06, both "Torque South" tuned. We had a great time beating every single diesel truck out there (16 wins and 0 losses). Most of the Cummins had nitrous and many of the Powerstrokes were "stacking" chips or modules.
The extended cab ran consistent 8.8s @ 76 with 1.8 short times while the crew cab hit 9.0 every time. Some of the Cummins owners were upset, one blew up his tranny. The only modifications are 4" exhaust & intake on the extended cab and just a 5" exhaust on the crew cab. Had a great time, thanks a lot EFILive and all the forum members for support.

Nice to see some fast local D-maxs here. I am often the only Chevy, and people are always shocked when I
ROMP ON EVERYBODY! LOL
Did it again last night.....

Had a bad day at work (and home), so I headed out to the track to clear my mind. My truck was in decent shape except the filty air filter which hasn't been cleaned in about six months. First up was a nice newer Cummins (like a small 2500, rwd) that had only exhaust and some kind of chip:

Then I noticed a gorgeous '05 SRT-10 (8.3 liter 500 hp Viper V10, Viper tranny). I asked him to race, but he said he was "cooling off". Understandable. So I watched the races until he was ready. I was kind of nervous before this one. But then...

So now I'm feeling good, and I asked this small Powerstroke that everyone seemed to be afraid of to run. He said it was unfair, because he was RWD. I told him run what you brung, and that he probably had nitrous (like they all do). He insisted that he didn't, and his girlfriend smiled as he declined the race and I walked away. I guess he didn't like that, so he came back and raced me. He was fast, and if he has no spray, I'm very impressed. I lost because I ate the tree, but I went faster anyway:

Then I noticed a newer Ford dually, he had a huge bottle. Seemed like a nice guy, so although I was pretty afraid of the nitrous, I ran him:

As usual, by this time there were no trucks that wanted to race. Itching to go one more time before I leave, I resorted to running my buddy's beautiful RX-7, which just ran a 7.6 and is deep in the 7s regularly. Expecting to lose by a trainlength, I was suprised when something went wrong with his run and I finished first. Oh, well he didn't have anything to prove on that one, people were laughing as we lined up.

Overall it was another great night of unplanned random racing. Even though I am so broke right now that I can barely afford to go racing (stop whining biatch, everyone has problems :) ) it would be nice to go with you big juice guys sometimes so you can back me up if I lose. I love to represent the Duramax, and it seems that I keep winning 99% of the time. Cool

Thanks. I used to have that problem also. Really sucks for us racers! Thank God we have one less than an hour away, although it may be somewhat compromised I'm VERY happy.

Last night, I raced and won three times. They were all Powerstrokes with bolt-ons, except the one that had a huge bottle of nitrous. He was heating it up with a torch. I was worried about the spray but I pulled on him hard and easy all the way. My lucky .504 and .512 reaction times made it look even more ridiculous. People were very impressed with the Duramax. I also found out that the nice fast King Ranch that I always beat by just a little bit has an upgraded turbo.
