View Full Version : No TCM = Derated ?

I noticed that EFI Live did not detect the TCM in the console screen. I was able to run my engine but it operated in a derated state. I do have the code U0101 - Lost communication with TCM.

Would the lack of communication with the TCM cause it to go into a derated state?

There is no transmission hooked up currently. The TCM is connected to the engine harness though and appears to have 12v battery power. Also the serial line is spliced in with the BCM serial line. I am currently using a stock flash with the VATS disabled.

I think you will be stuck in both situations.
The ECM will get cranky if the TCM is missing and probably go in to limp mode. On the other hand, the TCM will get cranky with no transmission hooked up so it will probably flag limp mode to the ECM.
We'll keep working with you off-line on a solution.

Cheers,
