Map Question

I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I create the maps for a log file, saved everything I could, then started working on a new dashboard for Idle tuning. When I was done I saved the PIDs, Dash pages, dashboard etc.

Now I go back to the log from before and the new maps that I was just working on are there and even if I clear the map, and try to load a new map, the same one comes back up?

Yes, I read through that. Is the bottom line that maps are not part of a theme, dashbord, or dashpage, but are static? No matter which dashboard you use, the maps are the same?

That is my experience. However I did go through a scenario where I made dashpages and a new theme and came back to access it and all my MAPs had disappeared.

However, I have realized that you can save each MAP individually so that you can call them up as you like. Try that. Also there are a number of prebuilt MAPs that are quite useful.

And after getting used to them, I probably use them more than the dashboard now.
