response 11-why cant i log any tunes?

have been trying for weeks to no avail!
i can write and download tunes just fine
when i try to log using scantool i go through all the steps
duramax imperial,validate pids bla bla and as soon as i hit the red or yellow dot it generates an error report and will not let me log anything:help2:

Do you have the latest software, drivers and firmware loaded? Fill in you sig so we know what model you have.

i have the latest everything -i was able to log before a few weeks ago and now i dont know whats goin on-maybe i goofed up on something and changed something i dont know but could someone walk me through the logging steps from start to finish so i know im trying this the right way
