So I got my license for my 04 gmc 5.3L and went for some tuning and loging and noticed that my tps never goes lower than 12.8%. Is this normal or what cause I am use to tuning the 5.7L vortecs so this one is like starting all over again. If it is right then how does it go into dfco since it is set to like 7 or 8% ( I think) stock? Any little tips to tuning this style motor would be nice to. thanks

does it have fly-bye-wire i would think it does.fly -bye-wire opens throttle to control idle when you add all the stuff like compressers kicking on,voltage draw,(differant loads on the motor )it opens throttle to hit target idle.as for help tuning 5.3 what are you doing with it tow, drag only ,street driving, street strip ?

ya it is fly by wire. I am going for a street tune, just more power and maybe some mileage. It is stock except for an intake, for now.
