View Full Version : Help with wide band hookup

All

I have completed a procharger install and am ready to do the wide band O2 AFR tune usinf V2

I believe that I have hooked up the Innovative LC-1 correctly. Did the "open air" calibration and then did the LC-1 programming for AFR use with EFILive.

Set all the recommended PIDs, per the tutorial, took car for a ride the EFILive Wide band AFR reading are about 1/2 of what they should be i.e. Min 7.36 AVG 8.54 Max 9.77
I know that these cannot be real AFR readings.... There must be something obviuos to you that I left out.
Calibration wrong, PID left out needed for calc, something?

Comments please.

PS : The ELILive tutorial is for V1 is there anything different for V2

I going to watch this thread develop and see what the answer is as well .

From what I saw you have to program the V2 by a set voltage that you command the LC-1 to supply (1v and 4 or 5v) .

I didn't prgram the V2, but I did program the LC-1 to 0.8833 and 4.216 as calle dout in the EFILive tutorial.
Is there something I need to do to the V2 as yo eluded to ?

Bob,

Make sure the voltage that is being outputed by the WB matches the voltage as reported on the AD1 pid. If this voltage doesn't match its one area that needs to be fixed. Also make sure you selected the correct WB so the calc. pid is correct.

The V2 also needs to have the ground offset calibrated. I think Joecar had a good thread going on this.

I would start by confirming the voltage reads first.

From what I get from it is you need to measure the voltage from the LC-1 and enter that into the V2 thus programming it to the LC-1 .
I am a little confused on what voltages are needed for the LC-1 , I think that a LM-1 or PLX was used and had different voltage requirements .
I set my LC-1 to output 1v on both analog channels and measured the voltage (1.37v) and then entered that in the V2 plugged in through USB port ScanTool opened and FlashScan V2 Control Panel opened , (1,370 mV) pressed Initialize then did 5v both analog channels (5.07v) then entered that value into the V2 (5,070 mV) , then press Calibrate .
I did not get a correct reading either it was way lean when viewed in ScanTool (17.3) , I watched with the LC-1 LogWorks and it did not match .
Maybe someone can clarify what is the correct way to set up a LC-1 .

I will check out both of the above suggestions.....

Why wouldn'y we be using LC-1 Analog output 2 0-5vdc?
Analog output 1 is 0-1vdc
Wouldn't 0-5 be more sensitve across the wideband.
EFILive suggests hooking up to AD1

I hooked up EFILive V2 to the LC-1 AD2 with associated AD2 PIDS.
Got "Normal readings", but I don't believe they are accurate.

Closest readings to "normal" the "Wideband Commander" readings.

Voltage readings
digital VOM V2
AD1 .146 .030
AD2 4.75 4.71

Where is the V2 calibration window.....don't see it under calibration

AFR avg for AD1 runs 7.75
AFR for AD2 runs 15.25

This is for an LS2

Why are my AD1 reading 1/2 what they should be, what am I doing wrong?

If you enter the same voltage value in the LC-1 as in the V2 , in other words if the LC-1 outputs at flat 1v setting 1.07v then enter that into the V2 as mV , same for the next reading flat 5v setting 4.99v , add mV to V2 , now do you use the voltage in the LC-1 like 1.07v=10.00 AFR and 4.99v=20.00 AFR ?

Be glad when the V2 firmware is updated to use a Digital wideband input , rumor has it the V2 will be able to use the digital signal form a LM-1 or LC-1 soon .

You may have found my calibration error, I was entering volts, not millivolts.
Will try it tonight or first thin tomorrw.

Unusual for me but I gave up.
Went to Redline Motorsports in Albany NY and had the AFR tuned on a dyno.
Howard @ Redline <otorsports did a great job.

Well I just ordered a lm1 so AT least I can see what the afr is!!

When I first hooked up my two LC1 to my V2 and laptop, both channels on the dash board gave readings of around 7 AFR, which i thought was odd, less than a minute later and without any intervention they both jumped simultaneously to rreading around 14.7 AFR ?

Each time the LC1 is powered on, it takes 20-30 seconds to "boot up" ("so to speak")...
during this time it will output ~0V which corresponds to something like 7 AFR.
