is the VE while cranking something that should be changed with your VE table?
if so should it be adjusted with BEN factor?
i have a spread sheet but i didn`t think it was accurate.
maybe it`s ok to leave it stock?

I adjusted it across the board based roughly on the VE table. So in my case, I took 60% out of the 0-400rpm rows, 58% out of the next row, 56% out of the next row, etc. By the time I got down to the last row, I took 16% out of it since I was decreasing the table at a decreasing rate of 2% per row. Then, I did a quick smoothing without letting things change too much.

yes , but is it a table that has any affect on the car?
i ask because i haven`t touched it and the car runs sweet after my ve table and maf are now inline.
i`m wondering what it does in the grand scale of things.

It's for startup...hence the 'cranking' part of the name. ;) :)

should this be adjusted in open loop or closed loop?
or does it matter?

I tuned the VE. Then, compared it to stock. The percentage difference in the new VE and the stock VE is what I used as a reference.

I don't know how you would try to record the AFR while cranking. From the time you turn the key until it fires up is not very long. So, I'd suggest what I said above. Get some general understanding of the cranking VE by looking at the new VE vs. the stock VE.
