Does anyone have any links to some useful Spark Advance tuning information?

I've read where some people just keep giving the car advance, until there is knock retard detected, the back it off a couple degrees.

I've also read where this is not the recommended approach.

I believe the optimal solution is to put it on a dyno while holding the throttle and RPM constant and then adjust the spark for peak torque. Possible with a RoadRunner and a dyno if that's something you can do.

I think you can do it with any dyno that has a speed hold mode. Use the LS1 controls to up and down the timing and look at the dyno numbers to see when it stops making power....

Of course, dyno runs are hard on your motor!
