switched modes??

In the tuning table D0409 it talks about using two switches, One for performance mode and one for manual mode. Switching to manual mode, will that actually make it act as a manual valve body??

Some PCM's treat manual 2nd as "hold 2nd" while others treat it as "automatic 2nd" (i.e. automatic PT upshifts/downshifts between 1st and 2nd)...

the manual switch allows the behaviour of manual 2nd to be selected as "hold 2nd" (i.e. manual mode) or as "automatic 2nd (i.e. automatic mode)...

I don't rememeber which vehicle had the manual mode switch... I think it was a 1994/1996 Firebird V6...? I haven't seen one since, altho some trucks may have it.

In all cases, manual 3rd is always "automatic 3rd" (automatic PT upshifts/downshifts between 1st, 2nd, 3rd)...

In all cases, depending on the WOT tables, 1->2, 2->3, 1->3 (D0913, D0918, D0919) upshifts may still occur.

So it's not quite a manual valvebody.

as for useing these modes, I have the wires run in cab, just havnt had time to fool around with it yet. let you know when i get to it.

Push button (paddle) shifting is implemented by manipulating the shift solenoid signals;

the 4L60/65/70E/4L80/85E require the manual valve be in a specific position for this to be allowed;

the 6L80/90 are fully electronic and allow all ranges/gears to be electronically selected.
