Hello,
Just installed my LC-1 and WB02 to my DB Gauge and have a reading on the gauge. Now I want to hook up my laptop to the car to use the scan tool. My problem is the serial cable that came with EFILive doesn't fit my laptop. So are there any serial cables that go into the 2.5mm stereo male end for the "IN" connection? (Hope that's not confusing) If not, then can I use a USB cable that goes into the "IN" connection?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Blue,

The serial cable that came with FlashScan V2 is for connecting the LC-1 to the FlashScan
(...must wait until the software implements digital/serial wideband AFR... Paul said he's going to implement this);

Your LC-1 should have come with a 2.5mm-stereo-to-DB9 adapter cable;
this connects the LC-1 STEREO OUT port to your laptop DB9 serial port;
this will allow you to to the following:
- program your LC-1 (using LM Programmer software);
- read the AFR serially from your LC-1 (using LogWorks software, and later EFILive);

There are USB-to-serial adapters, but I haven't had to use one (my laptop is old enough to have a DB9 serial port).

You must connect the 2.5mm terminator plug into LC-1 STEREO IN port, or the none of above works.

Blue,
Do you have V1 or V2? Either way you are going to have to hook up the analog signal and ground wires to the Flashscan (either version) in order to read on your laptop. The LC-1 tutorial that is in the help section of the scantool software has a step by step instruction set for such a setup like you are attempting to run.

The V2's analog input connector is a little different.

Sorry, I just mixed up the "In" and "Out" ports, I have them connected the right way. Too bad the old laptop I have is incredibly slow or I would use it :p
Doc, I have V2. I looked through my instructions and couldn't find anything. I tried the download section here as well and the download for scan tool wasn't working for me. Hopefully someone knows how to make this work.
How would that USB to serial adapter help me???

Open the scantool software, goto Help, tutorials, LC-1 Install tutorial

USB-serial adapter would help you if your laptop did not have any serial ports; you would need this if you wanted to reprogram the LC-1.

I forgot I could find the tutorials in the actual software. Do'h!
Thanks for all the help guys, I won't be able to work on the car for a few days, but when I do I'll have all the info I need because of this thread.
