I had a guy call me about a 98 s10 that he put a carb 350 in but left the wiring harness and electronic tranny 4l60e I think. The tranny doesnt shift right because there is no input from the motor. Can I go in and make the tranny work right with the carb motor?

No, I think you need a special standalone module from like Jet or another similar company that provides the trans with the proper inputs so it can shift right.

Thats what I figured but there has to be a way to do it with efi live.

Does it have the trans controller? If so, have him build a bench harness so you can hook up EFILive and see if you can do it that way.

For the PCM to operate the trans. it requires various sensors such as TP, VSS, ECT, CKP, MAP, Brake Switch, and possibly others.

Duh Erik, should have thought of that.:bash:

So basically he either needs to convert back to EFI or get a standalone module b/c trying to get all those inputs would be way more of a hassle than just ponying up $150-200 for the standalone module.

The modules from Jet or TCI would still require some of those inputs in some form.

There a lot more than $200.00. Most of them still need TPS and VSS at minimum. They usually run in the $800.00 - $1200.00 range.
