Ross/Paul, any ideas what ECM the 2006 Pontiac Torrent with the 3400 has? It LOOKS exactly like the LLY/LS2, and has a part number of 12604028 and a Serv# of 12600928.

Related, when I hooked my V2 up to check DTC's and look at controller info, it pulled the ECM info (VIN, and a few CAL numbers, supposedly), but when I told it to read the TCM (which according to calid.gm.com, it des have a TCM), my FS Locked up solid (all LEDs on and no response at all). After that, the car threw a CEL, ABS light and Brake light. the FS was able to kill the CEL, but I had to disconnect the negative battery to get everything to get happy again.

At the time, I thought it was a 2007, but upon checking, found it's a 2006. It also has GMLAN at the DLC, and that's the protocol the FS was reportig as using (well, CAN).

Because I thought it was an 07, and IIRC, FW version .58 had something to do with the E38, I tried upgrading back to .58, and when it tried to program, the dead poll flashing stopped (one light got stuck and acted wierd), and the upgrade util reported lost comms or something like that, then it wouldn't get out of dead poll when I reconnected. I was able to reload .57, but all my flash counters are reset! Any ideas what was going on?

I thought it might be a P05 controller. According to the AC Delco website it's a one year wonder! and we don't support it. Though, the 2007 Torrent uses an E38 so you just missed out.

The odd part is, the P05 (if it is using that) is a PCM so it does both the engine and trans in the one box. So given they show they have a TCM as well on CalID I'd say a P05 it is not.

Not sure what was going on with the other stuff.

Cheers,
Ross

It also whacked my PIN... Looks like there's some kind of "bug" that allows the FS to get unlocked...
