Hey there.
I just got EFIlive a while ago and want to use it on my buddie's vortec. Do I have to do anything to activate the stream before trying to tune it?
I already used a liscense and dont want to accidently waste the other one.
thanks
I have version 7.4.2

The Stream licenses enable unlimited tuning of specific PCM/TCM controllers. I suspect you simply want to use a VIN license. If you have allocate one to this vehicle already it will not use another. If you need another they cost US$99 each.

What I was referring to is the fact EFIlive allows tuning of any 98' vortecs for free via a supplied stream license. I was just curious if I had to activate said stream in some way as this info wasn't listed in the sticky on this board. And i have not yet tuned this vehicle.
thanks

Free 97/98 tuning is only for the LS1A Stream. This is a carryover from what was offered in FlashScan V1. 97/98 tuning of vehicles not included in the LS1A stream (Corvette and Camaro basically) will require a license per vehicle.

I was told that, that included the vortecs. Well thanks for clearing that up then.

make sure you have the 97/98 stream!

- Connect FlashScan V2 to your PC/Laptop
- Open the Tune Tool
- Go to the 'Help->FlashScan V2 VIN Licensing' menu option
- Click on the 'Streams Licensing' tab
- S-LS1A (97/98 LS1) should be active
