Instructions for Driver Installation aren't avail

Yup, Under instructions it says that the instructions for the 2000/XP/Vista driver install are in the download. Unfortunately that seems to not be the case. I have seen this complaint posted elsewhere by searching.

After I thought my V2 had died I suspected the problem might be drivers since my V1 still works. (it wasn't)

The proper drivers (FTD2XX.sys from 4/06) can be downloaded with proper instructions here(or so I hope cause at least it worked).

Do note that Blacky wrote this in Mar of 06 and the latest driver apparently is an April/06 driver. So make certain that you are getting the April driver.

Apparently the drivers were not the problem, somehow my protocol was changed since the last time I successfully used it.
