Can I use the EfiLive V1 Scan Tool to scan codes on a 1999 Ford Escort? It has OBDII so I thought that I'd ask.

Thanks Guys!

V1 uses the same physical protocol as GM...

GM uses SAE J1850 VPW (Variable Pulse Width Modulation),
Ford uses SAE J1850 PWM (Pulse Width Modulation).

Ford protocol is different than GM, so the answer is "No".

Thank You Sir! I guess it's back to the paper clip trick! :DIf you go to AutoZone or equivalent, they have loaner scan tools...
get a loan of the scan tool that reads codes and monitors sensors...

Can't you use Autotap with the older V1 cable?
