I just want to start off by saying I have a 2005 LLY Duramax, that ran fine. I added an MBRP Turbo Back exhaust and drove down the road about 5 miles and the check engine light came on. I hooked up a scan tool at work and it showed the following codes.
P0299 T/S Charger Underboost
P0401 EGR Flow Insufficient
P0404 EGR Recirc Range/Power.

I cleared the codes and as you may have guessed the light came back on a few miles down the road and popped the same codes and its obvious when the light comes on the truck does not run the same. Since I was in the market for a tuner, I went ahead and purchased EFI Live to see if it could help take care of my problem.

I recieved it, read the user manual, downloaded the software and started tinkering to see if I could figure out how to correct this problem via EFI Live. Long story short I couldn't, infact I didn't have a clue so the question I am asking this forum is if anyone out there has any advice or any setting that can 1. Keep the light from coming on(without just disabling the sysytem) and 2. Proper adjustments to the parameters and fix this the right way. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

A couple of questions.

1. Did you mess with the EGR system at all?
2. Did you change the air intake system?
3. Any boost foolers? (Fingerstick etc)

It can all be fixed no problem, don't stress.

Cheers,
Ross

You can disable those specific codes only from setting the light. You shouldn't have to adjust any parameters to have it "running right" just because of exhaust. The only code that set on my LBZ when I installed my MBRP exhaust was EGR flow insufficient. Where are you located?

I did not mess with the EGR System, The Air Intake system is completely stock and no boost foolers are being used. The only aftermarket item is an MBRP Turbo Back exhaust. I am located in Southern California, but the truck was purchased in New Hampshire.

Enter these values in the EGR section-

C2401-Disable
B1502-100
B1503-4000
B1504-2
B1505-300
B1506-Set the entire table to "1"

Enter these values in the "Engine Diagnostics", "Boost" section-

C0801-300
C0802-4000
C0803-100
C0806-50000
C0804 & C0805- Set entire tables to "15"

Open "Engine Diagnostics", then DTC Test Enablers and enter "Not Reported" for those 3 codes...Open DTC MIL Enablers and enter "No MIL" for those 3 codes...

That should do it...

Will do it right now, and will let you know the outcome. One more question though. How do you make it so you can display the gauges from the dash working on the lap top?

When I hit the drop down box there is on a liting for diesel or Diesel LBZ/LMM. How do I get one to show up for the LLY?

The '06 LLY got a lot of the upgrades of the LBZ. This included the 6 speed Allison and the ECU. So if you have an '06 LLY, you have to pick "LBZ" to tune it. For the rest of '04-'05 LLYs there should be a listing also.
