Still trying to tune my ls6 conversion and still getting a few codes.
p0171
p0174
p0327
p0322
Ok, history on the car. It's an 02 ls1 vette that I just dropped a 04 ls6 longblock in including electronics etc.
Battled a p0300 and found that I was getting 48lbs of fuel pressure. Swapped out the fuel filter (PITA) and violla 58 to 62 lbs so p0300 is gone. I have replaced both o2's and both knock sensors twice. Still same thing. My wideband shows me at 11.9 afr at cruise and 12.1 12.4 at throttle.
I was getting max kr all the time at anything over 40% tps but, that was due to me placing silocone all around the kr sensor (per tech pub) and running straight exhaust with solid motor mounts. Removed rtv sealant and replaced kr sensors and knock is gone.
I have a pvc catch can in place and a breather cap on my oil filler. Would this cause a vaccum leak? I wouldn't think so but, I have gone over this car 100 times and can find NO vaccum leak. My boost guage shows 25 to 30 lbs of vaccum at idle (planning to s/c once mystry codes are gone).
Any ideas?:master:
Tune is still a stock 04 zo6 tune less the ethnol tables and the tranny. I have an a4 not an m6.
Thanks,
-Chris

Are you getting P0322 or P0332...?

I have a pvc catch can in place and a breather cap on my oil filler. Would this cause a vaccum leak?So it sucking air thru the breater cap into the crankcase, out to the PCV/catchcan and into the intake manifold (just past the throttle blade)... that is an air leak; are you running with a MAF sensor...?

Thanks for the response.
Yes, it is p0332 not p0322
I have the gm sp software and have done all the tests. No short to ground and I do register KR with grounding the unit and tapping.
I am running a Maf sensor.
Just wondering if I need to close up the crankcase or just increase IPW like others have suggested in other threads?
Keep the ideas coming. :cheers:
Thanks,
-Chris

MAF is not measuring air entering thru breather on filler, so something has to be done (more air is entering than is being measured).

You may need to measure your actual AFR using a wideband...

Knock can be caused by:
actual AFR is lean (air leak(s));
ignition advance is too much;
engine is running too hot;
intake air is too hot;
MAF sensor is dirty;
carbon deposits in combustion chamber (run a good dose of SeaFoam or GM TEC);
oil being sucked into intake (you have a catchcan, but check behind throttle blade anyway);
wrong or worn spark plugs;
wrong gas;
other...

-> Can you hear it knock...?
-> When does it knock (MAP, RPM...?)...?

Knock sensors and/or their subharness may be faulty;
Knock sensors may also pick up other noise (valvetrain, piston slap, bearings...).

Nope, can't hear any kr and remember I have resolved all the kr issues.
Keep in mind that this block is new and approx 40 miles on it.
Now, I did not purchase a z06 maf as they were 150$. Instead I got a brand new ls1 maf but, I put in the stock ls1 maf table.
I do have a vararam intake with a KN. I will check the maf (clean) for possible oil on the element.
My Afr is reading on the lc1 11.9 to 12.4 afr so I suspect a leak somewhere or a computer issue. I will drive the car with the engine sealed up after I clean the maf and report back.
Thanks for your help joecar I do appreciate it :cheers:

well, that is weird as he$$.
Sealed the case and all codes went away. How in the world do the s/c guys run a breather filter?
