I was downloading into Flashscan when I was interrupted by a telephone call and ended session early. Since then I cannot start any "New Log File's". I tried to reinstall software but that did not work. Here is what I am doing
1 Start Scan Tool
2 Plug in cable into port and laptop
3 Connect to Escalade.
4 Connection completed
5 File>New>New Log File (It is shaded and will not start)
What am I doing wrong?

Don't do step 5. To start logging data 'F3' to stop logging data 'F4'. When you stop logging, it should prompt you to save file and a filename.
File>New>New Log File is to look at previously saved log files.

It did not solve the problem. When I press the connect button it goes from not connected to connecting (yellow) to connected (Grey) at the bottom line. However, everything stays grey, F3 does not work, Control M does not work, or any other button on the lower panel. When I go to BI-Directional on the top line it shows everything in grey and nothing responds.

Which version of EFILive software are you running...?
Do you mean that your firmware download into FlashScan V2 was interrupted...?
Or do you mean that your programming of the pids into FlashScan V1 was interrupted...?

I am using Flashscan 1 and operating version 7.42, connecting to a 2004 Cadillac Escalade. The interruption occured when I was trying to configue the Flashscan (black box) for logging.
Since that time I have not been able to start a new log file. I have not tried to use it on my other car, tonight I will see if it will work on the Corvette.

Have you:
- reentered your correct VIN/OS/Trans.../
- reentered your correct PCM type...?

Try the [Reset] button in the black box download window.
If that does not work, please generate a user error report after you have tried to connect to the vehicle. (i.e. after Ctlr+F3).
To generate the error report use the menu option File->Generate error report.
Save the report and send it to me at
[email protected].
Meanwhile, some other trouble shooting options to try:
Plug FlashScan into the vehicle only - did the LED's cycle up and down? If so that shows you have power on the OBDII port. If not, check your cigarette lighter fuse.
Turn ignition on, does the yello OBDII LED flash? If yes then FlashSCan is recieving data from the PCM. If not it could indicate a problem with the OBDII connector/cable.

Problem solved, when I plugged into my Corvette everything worked, then tried the cigarette plug in the Escalade and it was dead. Thanks all.
