The roadrunner should have a number engraved in the area where the engine harness plugs in. This number is to identify the beast. Craig should know where it has been.

The license stays with the original purchaser, unless they give it to you when you purchased the unit. This would be the software license.

The problem I see, is when you have EFILive, the roadrunner serial is with all the other info for registration, so I guess I would not give up my flashscan info to give them my roadrunner license.

The same drama is when you had the roadrunner registered when you had v1 up and running and then you upgrade to V2. You still have to have the v1 reg info in place to have the roadrunner going with V2. It's not a big drama, you just really need to keep track of all the reg info you have.

If you have TC OBD2 and a roadrunner going you will find there is just reg info to put in on a couple different versions of the software, I use Craigs version. If you did not get the reg info you will need to purchase a licence. Craig might be nice if the roadrunner was originally regestered with Him.

If you want you can plug it into the latest version of TunerPro and there
is no reg info needed. But then you would have to know what to do with it, some fun can be had here.

You may have a little drama changing over from one software to another. The roadrunner usally requires a kick in the ass. Each Vendor has a unique ID and when swapping software the tune cal installed is erased.

So don't scratch your head to much. If you have Efilive and want to hook it up, get intouch with Craig Moates or Efilive sales and get one of them licenses.

Have fun...

If you put the right info in the reg screen it should go.

Some of this info must be wrong, it does not take much.

Maybe run it past Paul, he just might help you out, you never know.

Cheers

i got the original email that has the license info.
i enter it in the #2 tab and it still won`t unlock.
i don`t have the original V1 flashscan serial number that
went with this though, maybe that is needed.

This would be correct.

You need to put the flashscan serial in as well.

Actually when you license roadrunner you need to use the same flashscan serial info even if you upgrade to V2 later. so you might have to put in two license info's to get everything going.

If you can get this info as well you will be good to go.

Your on the right track.

That's why I say,

Have a chat to Paul, he might be nice and help you out.

Maybe you could offer him lots of  .

If he does help you out I would be very :master: .

Just in case anyone else has the same query, here's the answer:

If an RR unit has been licensed to a FlashScan device, then you can re-license it for use with any other FlashScan device.

What we need from you is:
1. A copy of the original license. i.e. a copy of the FlashScan registration details from the person that you purchased it from that shows that it was licensed to a FlashScan unit.
2. The serial number of the FlashScan unit that you want to transfer the license to. i.e. your FlashScan serial number.

Then we can change over the license details on record here and issue you with a RR license that matches your FlashScan unit.

Paul

Thanks for clearing that up Paul!

I feel really good knowing that you have just increased the resale value of my Roadrunner by $100,00.

That's why there is only one LS1 Real Time Tuner in my eyes and thats Roadrunner Folks!

Make your choice, I have..........

That will stick a spanner in there spokes.

I'll also chime in, if anyone runs across this sort of issue, just get with me.

I will probably have record of your license info for that Roadrunner unless it went through a reseller like Greenlight or Thunder in which case they would have those details.

Like Paul says, everything's portable with the Roadrunner.

Hello,

Can I just send an email with the RR serial number from previous owner and my FlashScan serial number to be re-issued with a new RR license?

mr.prick
February 18th, 2010, 02:39 AM
Send Paul a PM with all your info.

Okay, I did read post 14

I just wanted to short cut the process as I guess EFIlive my have some sort of cross referencing system between flaschcan units and roadrunner serial numbers issued by them i.e they have the details already recorded.

Do you know if they do, mr prick?. Or is it more complex then that?

mr.prick

I imagine it's based on both the RR & Flashscan serial numbers because you can
buy an RR & license separate from Flashscan.

The RR cannot only be used with EFILive & TunerCat,
nothing else can access it thru the OBDII.

The license does relate to both the FlashScan and RoadRunner serial numbers. Also if you purchased the unit from another user we like to unlink the RoadRunner from their FlashScan SN.

Yes we have a record of the RR license, but we need you to send us the FlashScan Serial number and the RR Serial number and the matching registration key from the original owner to prove that the original owner has authorized you to have/use the unit.

Once I have the RR linked to my FlashScan, can I then send through my mates information ( and mine) to allow him to use the roadrunner?. Do I lose access? Or does my FlashScan stayed licenced to my roadrunner forever.?

He can use it with your license info.
Keep in mind the license is what secures the hardware. ;)

I am looking at buying a used RR PCM, the 1mb one that matches my truck sooo. From reading that i need to get the following:

FlashScan Serial number (from oiwners V1 or V2???)
RR Serial number (From the PCM???)
matching registration key (For EFI Live or RR???)

BTW, I have a V2 if that makes any difference.

After you obtain all that info, forward that info to EFILive.

RR works with both of V1 and V2.

I didn't know the 1MB RR worked... before you buy it can you get the seller to demonstrate it working to you.

Craig Moates has discontinued the 1MB RR:

. . .
Previously, there were Roadrunner versions available for LB7, 1024k ECMs and 98 ECMs. These have been discontinued. If you are confident that you can make it work for one of these applications, you can buy a “guts kit (http://www.moates.net/roadrunner-diy-guts-kit.html)” and fit it yourself. (Or pay us to install it (http://www.moates.net/roadrunner-install-pcm-conversion-service.html)) Again, these applications have been officially discontinued – we cannot guarantee that it will work.
