As some of you might have read, weve been having problems connecting to 98 F-Bodys with V2's, V1's have been working just fine, here is the original thread http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=6659

well, it seems we have found a solution, strange as it may be. It seems when we open the scan tool, and try to connect, if we enter 97-98 PCM for controller type, it does not connect. But, for some reason if we enter 99-07 LS1 as the controller, the V2 will then connect to the 98 car just fine. Strange, but for some reason it works.

I played around with a 98 a week ago, and didn't have any problem reading and writing the PCM (apart from having to disconnect and reconnect after the write operation)

I hooked up yesterday to adjust some DTCs and selected the 97-98 and it hooked up fine, read the file, and then allowed me to write the change back without incident.

I've tried to read with my V2 on a 98 Pontiac Trans Am and it wouldn't do anything at all. I'm going to try this, thanks for the tip!!
