With the arrival of my new Stealth tank, I had a few codes pop up that I needed to put to "sleep". No big deal, wham, bam, thank you ma'am on the codes I was expecting. What I wasn't expecting was the P0000 that I found in there. This is on my 98 LS6 engine setup.

What the heck is a P0000?

Hmmm, go to those posts, you then reference another post in that post. Unfortunately, most of us that are 'lower on this forum food chain' cannot access it!
(beta forum only?)

I saw one of the two links. The other is too high in the food chain for me too.

The P0000 was answered so it didn't matter that I wasn't in the food chain.

(beta forum only?)Dave,

I'm sorry, I didn't realize that one of those links was to the restricted V2 beta subforum... [this has happened to me several times... :bash: :doh::oops: ]

Please understand that it has nothing to do with "food chain" or anything implying a class-system society... the reason we have needed to restrict access to some subforums is to prevent business competitors from spying on development and progress...

Please accept my apologies.

Regards,
Joe

Well, when I exhibit the technical skill of a rock, I don't deserve much leeway! :D

No offense taken big guy.

No need to apologise, no offence taken :cheers:

I was just pointing it out
I understand fully the reason for restricted access to parts of the forum, just gets a little frustrating sometimes. This is not the first time a link to a restricted area has been given.

I have to admit I dont like being "locked out" of a forum, but I completely agree with the reasons and rationales behind it, so as much as I hate it I guess its a necessary 'evil' to deal with...hahaha! :D

Since the V2 BBL is becoming more public now, we'll see if Paul will open up that subforum.

there's good reason for beta testing to be kept private. I think the admins should leave it restricted.

I reread some of the beta test threads and I came to the conclusion that TA's right...

the beta test threads should be kept restricted as they may give away internal design clues/details/features (good ones might be plagiarized, bad ones might be used against EFILive)...

the purposes of beta testing (in no particular order):
- to get the product debugged and working correctly;
- to ensure that it is safe and won't cause damage;
- to refine it so that it flows coherently from a user's perspective;

the thing that matters is the product that eventually gets thru after being beat on by the beta testers (and they are beating on it quite hard)... it will work properly on your PCM without killing it.

Liability, protection of intellectual property, ability to brain-storm with out spreading rumors, time managment, etc...

I help beta test several industrial control system products and the beta-test environment is very similar to EFILive's. It's really just a matter of non-disclosure, technical ability, and available resources.

If you are interested in beta testing, you can send Paul and Ross an email or PM stating your interest.

All shit aside, beta testing is real cool until you figure out its actually work :D

Beta tested for MS , VMware , Novell and several others , don't care to anymore .
We used kind of IM type messaging system not a forum style , kind of like a repository tree style .

Why are they doing public Beta testing for the BBl this time ?
