I have been tuning a guys car with my stock 28.8's on it. He just bought some SVO 42# Green Tops. If I remember correctly these injectors are not flow rated at 43.5psi like GM injectors. Does any one know what they are flowed at. I need to make a new IFR table and I don't want to retune the car. Thanks.

Everything I've read indicates the SVO's are flowed at 43.5 psi.

I've read recently on tech that the 28.8's are flowed at 58 & if you enter that value into the Excell SS for the 28.8's, the results are pretty close to the oem FIR. ???

The flow rating for SVO's has been a long debated topic. I used 43.5 on RHS's spreadsheet to calculate my new IFR. I've heard though that Ford rates the SVO's at 40psi though.

Assuming you have your buddies car back in CL, you could easily try a 40 and 43.5 psi IFR calculation and see which one yeilds the same LTFT's at the 28.8's.

So far we have: 39.15, 39.5, 40, 42, 43.5 [psi].

Everything I've read suggests 39.15psi. Problem is....I've also read they flow at 42lb at "39.15 and above".
It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I've spent literally hundreds of hours online searching through forums and just running general searches.
Do a search here for 42lb or Bosch and you'll find a couple of current threads.

Marcin...seems to me they're closer to 43lb/hr at 43.5...according to those sheets?

I thought all gas injectors were calculated at a base rate of 43.5? Are there some that aren't?

For some reason it seems Ford choose not to go by the way of 'industry (GM) standard'.
Here's some info (there's a couple of us trying to do this at present).

yes, these are flowmatched sets, so these particular sets might be closer to some other value than precisely 42. i've seen others below 42, so it's just a luck of the draw. thanks to flowmatching though, it doesnt matter what the rating says, as now you know exactly.

The best way to eliminate the issue is to use Bosch GM replacement injectors. I've had Chuck at Cody Motorsports flow check several sets and they come out right on the money. He usually checks at both 3-bar and 4-bar so you know for sure that the injectors match their flow rating and also that you have an accurate number for setting IFR. If cost is the primary reason for using Ford injectors, PM Chuck L. for special pricing for EFILive Forum members.

From the Cody Motorsports flow bench-- Ford 36-pound injectors--

at 39psi- 32.94 #/hr
at 43.5 psi- 36.12 #/hr
at 58 psi- 42.86 #/hr

Thanks dfe1.
I just received this reply from a Lightning owner....

Q: Do Ford's use 40lb as their base fuel pressure?
A: The exact pressure is 39.6992187.
