01 to 03 ECM swap

I have a 01 lb7 and the ECM is no good

I have a friend that is selling his 03 ECM

Is there any issues that you guys can forsee with purchasing the 03 ECM?
or is it just plug and play

Do i need a bench harness or can i just install the 03 ECM and do a full flash
to a 01 stock tune and add in my Vin#?

I have had some weird things happen when installing an 01 OS into a later ECM. Not always, but once in a while.

Alot of us run 02 OSs in the 01 trucks for more functionality.

Thanks Trippen , I have heard and read about those issues

but is it simply install the 03 ECM and fullflash to the desired OP system and my VIN#? or will i need a bench harness?
