Not sure what the cause is, but my new 2GB SD card is dead. I just got it, inserted it into my V2 and formatted it. It then froze when I tried to show the free space. Put it in my PC, and it shows no free or available space, when I try to format it with the PC, it says unknown capacity and won't format. I don't know if the V2 killed it or what since it was brand new out of the package, but just an FYI. I don't think I want to try formatting another though...

I have formatted mine loads in the FlashScan V2 with various firmware.

I may have just had a bad SD card. Never had that happen though... I formatted the 256 That I've been using and it's fine.... Unless it has something to do with the fact that the new one's 2GB and the "old" one is 256MB.

I've had zero issues formatting my 1GB SD card with the V2.

Can you try formatting it again in V2?

Or maybe try this SD card formatter program:
http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/sd_formatter.html

Nope, didn't work; said it wasn't supported. I'll get it replaced (since it's new) and try again.
