high speed scaning [Archive]

Did anyone try the full CANbus speed scanning? I think it's a brand new thing in 7.5.3. I don't have a E40 vehicle to try it on, but I could really use the higher resolution for an experiment I'm running.

We are improving the CAN speeds for each major release, however, it's still not as fast as it could be on the E38 for example. Well, I should say, it's fast as it can be, but the channel limits still apply.

so where's the bottleneck? which channels are you talking about?

Software is the bottleneck, not the hardware. 24 channels or more slows the E38 down (in the software). The number of channels can be monitored down the bottom in the PID selection.

And the E-38 scanning is megafast compared to previous. Is this a lag issue?
