Hey there all! I have a L92 6.2L V8 along with a 6L80E transmission that I'm retrofitting into a 1966 GTO as part of the www.v8tvshow.com website.

I need to know if the security settings can be disabled, as well as the DOD and getting the shifting corrected for the tires/axle combo that will be in the GTO.

Can you help direct me where to start?

I already own EFILive for my LBZ duramax... and know how it works.

Stefan, sounds like a great conversion.
Yes you can certainly turn the theft system off in the ECM as you can certainly disable the DOD. Recalibrating the TCM to match the setup in the GTO should be no problem either.

If you have read the ECM, then to turn the theft off, you need to go to B9903 to force it off. For DOD, you can disable it in several ways, by either putting zero's in the position tables or setting the RPM values to enable / disable it.

Cheers,
Ross

Yes it has been available for a long time now. All operating e38 and e67 os systems are supported. :)

The DOD should already be "OFF". I don't know of an application where it is "ON" on the 6.2L's. Should make a good running GTO. Good luck and feel free to ask for help.

Sounds like an amazing GTO man! I love EFILive, its amazing to think (after all their hard work) that a few simple table changes can make this technology from 2008+ work in a 66 ride. So cool! :D

Am I able to dis-able all the security codes and the like? VATS?

Does anyone have a sample tune I can take a look at with my EFILive?

It will be an awesome car... Check out the www.v8tvshow.com website for updates and details on the build.

Read Ross' above post, you should be able to do it all. I dont have a sample tune, but look at www.holdencrazy.com and see if theres one in there for your engine.

Edit: Found one man: 07 Denali 6.2L L92 Stock (http://www.holdencrazy.com/EFILive/TuneFileRepository/Stock/GMC/2007%20GMC%20Denali%20Truck%20Automatic%20L92%206. 2%20Litre%20(PCM%2012614088).tun)

Just wanted to clarify on the 6L80E - is this fully tunable now with the EFILive?

I hear ya on the motor and did download the stock tune to check it out...

You can see the updated blogs on www.v8tvshow.com

Thanks!

i was suprised at the eng mounts.you used to be able to get them with a T shaped piece of steel that fits through a U shape piece.so when they break the rubber the engine doesn't do hand stands under the bonnet..otherwise i wish itwas mine
