View Full Version : Nube trying to figure injectors tuned!?!

My car (01 SS H/C/I/E) was previously dynotuned(supposedly). However, I just physically researched my injectors and found out they were SVO 30lb'ers. I am looking at B4001 (hopefully the right one) and using the stickies' injector calculator. I found mine have a little higher value than stock, but not as much as the calculator.

01 Stock tune: 3.6172 @ 0kPA to 3.9609 @ 80kPa
Mine: 3.9531 @ 0kPA to 4.3281 @ 80kPa
Calculator: 4.3648 @ 0kPA to 4.7815 @ 80kPa

Is the tune correct for them? Maybe they know more info and customized it directly for these specific ones?

On a side note. I finally got my first log using a wideband. Yeah!

What fuel pressure are you running? Stock 58psi? That could change your required IFR (injector flow rate) in your tune. If you are running 58psi then your IFR should look like this:
4.3648 4.3920 4.4190 4.4459 4.4726 4.4991 4.5255 4.5518 4.5779 4.6038 4.6296 4.6553 4.6808 4.7062 4.7314 4.7565 4.7815

The values in your 4001 roughly correlate to 27-pound injectors. It's tough to say whether these values should be changed because there are a number of other tables that can be used to influence actual flow rate. (Some tuners purposely put wrong numbers in the 4001 table and correct elsewhere, just to screw with people who copy their tunes.) Rather than worrying about numbers in a table, check AFRs with your wide band. If commanded and actualy are really close, the tune is correct. Also, don't take for granted that you actually do have 30-pound injectors. Even if the injectors have the right part numbers, you'll never know for sure unless you have them flow checked.

Yes, it is stock PSI. Thats what I figured.

Tricky,tricky. Thanks' I'll look into that.

Alright, I checked out GM.AFR on my scan. Throughout the duration of my scan (aabout 15 minutes) it was almost steady at 14.63. The average was 14.61. I guess that would mean they are tuned in appropriately...right?

No. What you're looking at is commanded AFR. You need to log comanded and actual (as reported by your wideband) and see how close they are.
