its an 08 6.0 in a 1500 gmc pickup
how do i know what pcm i have so i can read it ?
i keep getting an error message when i try to read pcm info
its says cannot communicate with flashscan and ecm

Based on the supported vehicles list (http://www.efilive.com/supvehicle.aspx), it looks like you should have an E38 ECM.

Id say an E38 or E67, probably the E38. Either way you need FS V2 to connect.

duh-i guess im pretty ignorant
thanks guys- ive read my pcm but why dosent the trans get read also?or is it a seperate tcm?

If there's no expandable "Transmission Calibrations" section, then you have a TCM (either T42 or T43, I'd guess)

Its definitely got a seperate TCM, the E67/E38 is only an engine controller. And Im with Cougar, its either a T42/T43.
