Ok, got a couple conflicting comments:

http://mcspeed.homestead.com/Modern_Moddin.doc says (see attachement) which basically states that the E67 can support a 4L60E/4L65E etc trans and the E38 can't. The statement below stays neither can.

And http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/113_0705_engine_swap/gm_small_block_engine.html says:
The E38/E67 ECM no longer incorporates control functions for the electronically controlled auto trans (including the 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L70E, 4L80E, and new six-speed automatics), which must use GM's new standalone production TCM. Alternatively, GMPP and TCI market standalone computers for controlling the late-model electronic automatics.

Ross sent me an 08 E67 for the Trailblazer I6 motor and it does NOT have trans support. Since the previous P10 and P12 controllers did, I think GM is planning on going with 2 separate controllers now, an ECM and a TCM.

Is there any advantage of having separate controllers?

Not that I know of now, all I know is it shot down my PCM swap idea because having to wire 2 controllers vs 1 would be a royal PITA.

So basically none of the E38's and E67's have trans support?

Well I know for sure the E67 doesnt as since GM introduced the LL8 motor in late 01 they have used 1 PCM to control everything and now they arent... Also, the TrailBlazer SS (6L LS2) uses the E38 and a T42.

So basically none of the E38's and E67's have trans support? The key is you have to use a PCM, not an ECM. If the controller is an "E" series (E40, E38, E67) it is an engine controller only: "T" series controllers (T42, T43) are transmission only and "P" series controllers (P10, P11, P12 as well LS1 PCMs) control both engine and transmission.

what engine , wire harness, and vehicle do you have?
you will need to match the wire harness and the reluctor wheel to the ECU.

I am trying to setup a 0411 PCM on a 99 K2500 Suburban (OBS) 454/7400/L29 and a 4L80E.

The L31 tune from 2002 is a good base, and supports 4L80E and the 350/L31, but I might need to tweak the wiring some with my 454. Hopefully not....

Hello N0DIH I too have an L29/ 4L80E but in a 96 2500 Suburban. I am having trouble with a case learn and need a good base tune for my 411 swap. Have you got anything you would be willing to share. It seems that all the threads I have found so far stop once someone figures out their problem but the solution never makes it to a thread. Perhaps 3 days of searching is just not enough yet, I guess I will keep on going.

very soon I will be able to run the 4.2L I6 on the 0411.

very interesting .... are doing the "vortec" type swap by using the 3x crank sensor setup? Or did you end up having to swap in a 24x reluctor wheel?

thats the last bit to figure out.

I believe the later 58x motor can use a lingenfelter box to convert it back to 24x. Will work on the newer motors soon.

Not using the 3x because its coil on plug and 3x OS won't support it.

Does anyone have a screenshot of the crank/cam signal from p10/p12?

Would greatly help. Seems like the cam signal can pass through but the crank would need to be converted from 7x to the 24 pattern.
