Indicated throttle position verses Absolute throttle postion.

Whats the difference?

SAE.TP is usually reads 88% max, of 0 - 5 volts from the sensor

Does GM.ETCTP indicate the % of the opening of the butterfly? Reads 0 - 100%

I use the SAE.TP with my older PCM (05) and the GM.ETCTP works (0 - 100%) on the new E38 in the 07 Denali. Not sure if this is what you meant, but hope it helps.

I think the difference is with the ETC stuff, ETC tbs dont have an IAC for idle so the PCM manually cracks the blade for idle. I think my I6 idles at about 8-12% throttle position so subtracting that from 100% gives the 88% you see at WOT. Just use the GM.ETCTP pid though! :)

SAE.TP works fine (0-100%)on my 05 and it has ETC so it may be other factors at work also.
