I have been trying to turn the vats off in a ls7 in a 1962 vet on a E38 and have not had any luck I applied the (B9903) patch and turned the vats enable off (G1204) and (G1210) vats typeto 2 first then I tried (G1206,G1208)
no injector pulse can go to a 2006 ls7 cal and will run I have to run a 08 cal thanks

What you need to do is read the DTC's once you try to run the engine, just to ensure the 2008 program is not running due to VATS.

Ross

Hi Ross,

Is it necessary to change (G1204) G1206 and G1208, or simply to apply the VATS patch with G1210 set to type 2 or 3?

i.e. are the VATS patch & G1210 the relevant changes and other than G1210, are the VATS parameters irrelevant?

Edit: Just found your answer to G1204 in another post. I found E38 VATS disable seems to work with just the patch applied, and G1210 Type=3.

Cheers and thanks.

So it's up and running now?

It ran anyway with just the VATS patch and G1210 = 3. As I had seen other posts mentioning more paras being changed like G1206 & G1208 (including yours and mention of G1204), I wanted to check on those to establish whether they were relevant or not. Or maybe affect the setting of related DTC's.

As with E38's, many more unknowns than knowns for us punters.

It would be really good if you guys also did the ETC area. Any plans? Its a pain to have to line up a tech II to Holdenize USA originating E38's.

Or is this such a big can of worms, it is not worth the development effort, given its not a problem in the US?

Cheers.
