Hi, I'm new here, bought the EFILive for my duramax truck, but am now trying to hook up the wifes tahoe so I can try to get her a better mileage tune.

It's a 2001 and I figured it's an LM7... when I go to do a scan on efilive, it gives me one option for LM7, but it's '04-'07 :nixweiss:

Is that the one I use? I haven't found anything so far that tells me which ecm I have... is that what the LM7 means?

Sorry if I sound stupid... but I am  :muahaha:

Thanks, Greg

Sounds like you're stuck in diesel land. A 2001 Tahoe has a "99+LS1" PCM. For reference, 1997-98 LS1s use a different style PCM than 1999-2008 Gen 3 engines (4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0-liter gas engines). These are typically refered to as 99+ LS1 PCMs. Gen 4 engines (LS2, LS7 and all the truck/SUV versions) use an ECM (E38, E40, E67) and a separate transmission controller. There is a point of confusion in the 2007-08 model years because both Gen 3 and Gen 4 engines are used.

The short answer to your question is to select 1999+ LS1 when you want to connect to your 2001 Tahoe.
