I'd really like some input on this guys...

My Knock Retard issue is really starting to get under my skin. When I go to pass somebody, say going 45mph+ my truck senses knock and retards the timing 8 degrees.

There is absolutely no detonation, pinging, spark knock, etc. This is false knock asaik.

Here's more on the problem.

First.. we thought it was fuel pressure. Checks out.

Then injectors. All changed.

All new sensors (MAP, MAF, etc) on this engine - 50K miles.

I was told by another tuner that it was my slip yoke clunking. Removed today, and greased liberally.

The problem still exists.

Luckily, the Knock Sensor harness is very accessable from on top of the intake manifold. I disconnected it here. Light Blue/Dark Blue

Bad news. STILL getting max KR, pegs at 8 degrees retard when I go 100% throttle, and during a 4th gear to 2nd gear downshift. The MIL popped up with low voltage reference KS 1&2, etc.

I removed the light blue wire from the connector, and connected it. KS1 disabled KS2 functioning.

Knock Retard still exists.

Reconnected the light blue and removed the Dark blue pin from the connector. KS2 disabled KS1 functioning.

Knock Retard still exists.
