If I understand it corectly, the aim is to get the BEN to be 1.
If my BEN is pretty much 1 to 1.1 with the afr set at 15.4, and
running ol (no o2 feedback), Do I need to do the Auto VE?
Or is it close enough?

1.1 is out by 10%... that's not close enough.

3% would be close enough.

OK, I'm missing something here...

now it is 1 to 1.1

Where is the 10%?????

And if so, what numbers would make it 3%???

1 is 0%... 1.1 is 10%... 1.03 is 3%...

you should run through the AutoVE tutorial a few times to get things dialed in.

BENs of 1.0-1.1 can easily represent fueling discrepancies of 20% (0.95 - 1.14). Getting the BENs within 0.98 - 1.02, or better, will yield noticable improvements in drivability.

AFR set to 15.4, do you mean in the properties of the tune tool? Should be 14.63.

I looked at your VE map of your 15.4 tune, not what I expected, but i'm no expert, maybe some one else can have a look at it?

I am looking strictly for milage, thus the 15.4
The engins seems quite happy there.
I could not get the grasp of the autove, but after just doing it a couple
times on my (ongoing) 2000 mile trip, it is quite easy.
Another question though.... It seems that the BEN's over 1 are when
I am running leaner than my forced 15.4, so wouldn't it be ok just to work
with the numbers below 1? I'm sure I don't have an understanding yet...
The ve maps I have posted to date are the oem ones, I haven't been home
yet to sort out my tun's & log's from this first series of autove's.
