Well I finally found out that flashscan is in a dead poll, I was trying to update the BB and the display reads "IN PROGRESS DO NOT INTERRUPT", this has been like this for about a hour, I went to bed and when I woke up I checked the flashscan and 2 leds are just flashing and there isn't any display :bawl:

Is there someway I could recover from what ever happened to the BB upgrade?

Hi SFCJ, welcome to the forum

Is this with FlashScan V2...?

Which firmware version were you updating with...?

I pm'd Tech Support, they'll get back with you.

Thanks, It is a brand new Flashcan V2 that I bought fron SoCal Diesel, The upgrade had to do with BB, I don't remember what version, Procedured seems straight forward, left it over night and it is in a dead poll. I am hoping that I can reflash back to original....haven't been able to find the file to do so.

Thanks for the welcome, it is good to be part of a nice forum

First of all, there is no problem, everything is working as designed.

Please goto this thread:

Download the Black Box Logging (BBL) beta software.

Unzip the downloaded file and locate the file: Readme_First.pdf
Please read through that document, it will explain what you need to do to complete the upgrade process.

A quick explanation of what happens during the upgrade:

Activating the boot block upgrade in a FlashScan V2 device, fundamentally changes the way the bootblock and the firmware interact. Once the new bootblock is in place, the existing firmware can no longer function. The upgrade process deliberately deletes a section of the firmware which forces FlashScan to go into (and stay in) deadpoll until firmware that is compatible with the new bootblock is programmed into it. That is where your V2 is at the moment. It is waiting for you to reprogram it with the latest BBL firmware. The Readme_First.pdf document explains what to do.

Many thanks Paul, I understand what you are saying, I guess I was waiting for the flash scan to verify that it completed that stage....I owe Guy Tripp many thanks too as he helped me alot in sorting out this small mistake, I have some more reading to do as to get to know the flashscan and what I can do.
