the ECU is e38 and was from a 2007 4,8 Silverado non flex fuel see VIN below

I hope it is possible to flash the ECU with the needed files??

I had the chance to exchange my ECU for an ECU out of a '07 Avalanche with the same option Code LMG ( flex fuel) for the engine as the engine I have.

here are the details:
12605897 at the top of the sticker and to the right YNAU
and down at bottom it has service number 12597121 and a big number 86ynauk16194d88a.
The vin on the vehicle is 3GNEC12047G152683.

could anyone explain the Numbers a little as I am quite new to this ECU..
Oh yes and I bought a EFIlive flashscan V2 as a programmer.....

Just numbers GM use to reference the tune that is in the ECM when it left the factory.

Service number is what you give the GM parts guy if you need a new one.
The 86YNAUK..... is the serial number of the ECM.

Did you still need the file?

Ross

Hi there,

if someone has the correct stock tunes for my engine and 4L60E tranny any mail to haraldschoener@yahoo.de would be very welcome.

Then has anybody a source (manufactor and part No ) of the ECU (E38) and TCM connectors? I want to build a bench harness for programming

Thx a lot

Harald

http://www.speartech.com

These guys sell premade bench hardness for an E38 / T42 combo. $185 might seem a bit expensive but sometimes it's just easier than messing around yourself.

Hi Ross,

seems that it never came to the point that you email me the tune file for the
'07 Avalanche with option Code LMG

here are the details:

thanks in advance Ross, pls email to haraldschoener@yahoo.de

I did some work in the past, ordered samples for the bench harness and after I return from my Ca trip work will begin.

As I am fairly new to this stuff here, what else do I need to make that ECU together with a TCM ( tranny out of '07 suburban 1GNFK16367R390210, TCM 617KLDY45854254) and BCM work in a conversion into a 1997 Tahoe??
