Looking for some direction on tuning. New to the forum and to the whole tuning world but would like to learn and understand. Wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of some good material to read on tuning, ECM's, how they operate, what they do, and how they do it. I am an aircraft mechanic and understand that it takes many years of experiance and reading to understand complex systems so I am not expecting one book or place to do this. Is the factory manuals good, web sites, books, etc. Thanks for the help and I have already enjoyed the forum. :thankyou2:

b350, welcome to the forum...
This gives a good description of how the 'subsystem' work: http://carprogrammer.com/Z28/PCM/LS1/Holden_LS1.pdf
Skip some of the sections on diagnostics, strategy, PIF.
The GM service manual for your vehicle is very good and very detailed.
