I have an issue with my desktop whereby when I apply my filters and the process bar moves accross..when it gets to the end..the scantool window just closes.
I was unsure if it was actually filtering so I checked it via my laptop and it seems it doesn't apply the filters...or applies some and not others.
Anyone else had this issue?
Is it a Vista thing?
Thanks

I have the same issue sometimes... Sometimes when I apply the filter it changes nothing then I press the replot button and then it changes the values.. I have a similar problem after a replot or apply filter it will minimize the window or go to another window (like if I have IE open in the background).. Kinda annoying to say the least...

Yep....that's exactly what mine does. Doesn't do it on my laptop running XP Pro. Only the desktop PC running Vista.

Again....
Just got home from work after running a log.
On my laptop I can filter it.
On my desktop....when I hit the filter icon the progress bar runs across the screen and when it gets to the end...the window just closes. No extra box pops up asking if I want to replot...like it does with the laptop and XP.
I click on the scantool tab in the task bar and it opens straight back to the map. The filter icon is highlighted as though the filter has been applied but the data is unchanged.

It's a "Vista thing", although sometimes this "problem" appears in some versions of XP. Maybe a dll from Microsoft has been updated with the "new way" of doing things (have you recently upgraded XP to SP3?). Anyway, it has to do with dialog boxes not showing up properly.
After the filter is applied, EFILive attempts to display the dialog box: "Log file has more than xxxx frames do you want to replot?". That dialog box fails to show up (and the main window is incorrectly hidden - Alt+tab brings it back) and so the replot is not done, until you manually click the replot icon at the bottom of the screen.
I will fix the call to the dialog box to make it more "Vista compatible".
In the mean time, you could try changing the replot limit to 30,000 (the maximum allowed) to prevent EFILive attempting to display the replot confirmation dialog.

Thanks Paul,
I'll try your suggestions.
Howard
EDIT:
I set the replot limit to 30,000 and it fixed the issue.
For those unsure of what Paul means:
Scan tool, Edit, Properties, playback, 'Auto Replot Limit'-change it from 3,000 to 30,000

I'm having a problem with filters that might be similar. When I have a log open and am looking at the "B" dashboard (the generic chart one) and press ctrl-alt-enter to open the filter dialog, select the GM.KR filter and hit ok, nothing happens. Alt-tabbing away from the scanner and back does not bring a replot box to the front, and manually clicking on replot all replots w/o the filter applied. This happens with both 7.4.2 and 7.5.3 (log file was made with 7.4.2), on XP pro sp2. Any ideas?
edit- also made the 30000 limit change as well.

I only made the dialog box changes to the latest BBL beta version (V7.5.4) available here:

GDI. I'm a retard. I was only setting the filter, not applying. Hooray for not reading the instructions.:doh2:

I ran into a pretty weird problem last night. I created a filter then I applied the filter... Nothing changed in the map... Sooo I click the replot button, still nothing changed... Open the filter again to verify, it was correct, I save and reapply the filter, still no change, then I replot again, still no change... I flip to another map and come back and replot, then the filter finally changed the map... Any clue what is going on... This has happened several times, kinda frustrating, especially when the scanner minimizes after it gets threw reploting, sometime I can't tell if anything changed....
BTW vista user as well..

If you are not running the latest beta software (V7.5.4) then please read posts #7 and #10 earlier in this thread.
