Go back to your stock tune, raise the idle RPM a ~100 RPM, Do a search on RAFIG and RAFPN, that should help with the start up problems you are having...

i cant even get it to start on the stock tune now.

knucles,

Welcome to the forum.

It should be able to start and run even if it won't run properly.

Are you sure you're still getting plugs and injectors to fire...?

Are RPMs indicated while cranking...?

Are you sure there are no air leaks around the intake manifold (and it's various vacuum ports)...?

Start with your stock tune file, goto table B0101, increase the whole table by 10%.

be for i started with the efi it would start i checked the manifold for leaks and found none. i will try the 10

Put the original tune back in there and see if it starts.

(also, you should be doing cal-only flash and not full flash).

knuckles

i will check on that

It will rewrite ALL of the cals every time you reflash. You dont need to do it after every single change, but it will rewrite all of the available parameters with whatever is in your tune. Use a full flash only if you're testing something from EFILive or changing operating systems (if your controller supports this, most do).

Can someone explain why it wouldnt be safe or ideal perhaps just to go ahead and do a full reflash (cal and OS). Thanks

If the full flash fails in the first 10-20 seconds, then your PCM is toast (say your laptop dies, or your car battery dies, or some other module disturbs the serial bus).

You use full flash only if you're changing OS.

You are editing tables/parameters in your calibration segments, all you need to do is a cal-only flash which writes all the calibration segments to the PCM but leaves everything else (the OS and other stuff) alone

Be sure to first save your edits to file, use a new filename.

ok i cant get it to start i tried the stock tune with the extra 10 in bo101 and raising the idle to 705.

is the some one in oc cal that is willing to come over and help? willing to pay. Some things to check:
- are all the engine grounds connected (...the one on the back of the LHS head...)...?
- is RPM indicated while cranking...?
- are you getting spark while cranking...?
- are injectors firing while cranking...?
- is fuel rail pressure in range...?
- did fuel pump run when you first went to key on...?
- do you get manifold vacuum while cranking...?
- do you get compression while cranking...?
- is ECT sensor connected and reading correct...?
- is MAP sensor connected and reading correct...?

Where are you located...?

all that stuff is good.

i cant check the vac or psi on fuel are comp right now but thy were good when motor was put in and the only thing diff from then and now is the tune.

would start run like crap and drive like crap befor efi was used.

i had it runnig but it has just gone down hill.

i am in anaheim right next to d land

Pull your plugs & see if they are wet. If they are you may need to reduce B0101 in the first couple of rows to prevent overfuelling at idle. While your cam is small if it is trying to start higher in the map range it will overfuel.

i will try that right now thank you

Put the original tune back in...

then remove and clean/dry all the spark plugs; put them back in and try again.

Can you take a log while cranking... log these things:
- RPM
- ECT
- IAT
- TP
- MAP
- MAF
- SPARKADV
- AFR
- IBPW1
- IBPW2
- STATE02
- STATE06
- DYNCYLAIR_DMA

Edit: do as 5.7ute said...

ok here is the up date i cleaned plugs and could not get it to start. so i went on that holdencrazy and got the stock tune for my truck and did a full reflash and now it runs better then ever since the motor was put in. witch is good because i had to move the truck and i am sick and did not want to push it. now it just needs to be tuned i will log some data and post it so you guy can coment on it.
