Do the External PID,s for the WB figure into the channel count? I am logging 24 channels but when I add the WB it will be 28 if they count. The PID descriptions in Hapi show 2 channels each for the WB outputs. The same PIDs in the scan tool show 0. Does anybody know which is right? This is with an E38 ECM. Thanks, Jim

This is per one of Blacky's posts:

The limits for Black Box Logging are as follows:
VPW style controllers: 24 channels (4x6).
CAN style controllers: 42 channels (6x7).

External PIDS are not gathered from the data stream, I don't see how they would matter.

External pids are not gotten from the PCM (they are not included in data frames returned by the PCM)... so they are "bonus".

Thanks Joe + Al for the info on the channel count. One other question, I hooked up the Inovate LM1 to FS2 and error came up "controller not found". I used the mini 8-pin cable from the LM1 to a null modem adapter then the serial cable from FS2. The display on the LM1 is fine (14:7 AFR ) in closed loop. The display on FS2 shows locked on 1.7 Lambda, 25 AFR. Any idea whats wrong. This is with VPW- 99+ LS1 Auto (2004 Silverado)Thanks, Jim

Did you configure the FS2 options correctly(ie. choose wide band and Innovate)? It is also necessary to hit OK when done, do not back out.

Settings are as follows: com in- Wide-02, com out- Wide-02, W02 Type- Innovate. Is this communication problem because of the difference between LC1 and LM1? Also with the LM1 I was just displaying the data, I wonder if you need to start "record" in order to have the data active thru the serial cable to FS2?
